Our partner, Grant Cummings, is running his 10th Comrades this year in support of charity.
On his completion of the event, he will be awarded his green number, and retain his race number in perpetuity. In view of the significance of this year’s event for him, he has set himself the goal of raising R280 000 in support of locally based charity, the Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust (“HACT”), which provides unconditional love and hope to HIV/AIDS impacted communities in the Valley of a Thousand Hills, through sustainable interventions including HIV prevention and education, HIV care, community outreach, skills development and economic empowerment. Should he achieve that goal, he will have succeeded in raised R1 million for various charities over the past 10 years, through his Comrades runs.
Over R220 000 has been raised so far, which means that there is a little more than R50 000 left to raise in order to reach the R1 million mark.

No sporting event gives expression to the wonderful rainbow nation in which we live quite like the Comrades Marathon, so we urge all of our valued clients and colleagues to be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud, and give generously to this wonderful fundraising initiative.
